Playtech Joins Forces with PokerStars in Content Distribution Deal

The Isle of Man-based gambling software developer Playtech has reached a new content distribution agreement with PokerStars. Under the terms of the deal, the already existing collaboration between the two parties is to be extended to a new level.

The web-based casino section of PokerStars will be supplied with some of the most popular gaming titles provided by Playtech. The gaming content of the Isle of Man-based provider will be rolled out among the PokerStars offerins at several stages.

Various Playtech titles have been launched especially for the Amaya-owned brand’s desktop and mobile device users, including some of the most-loved in-house developed and progressive jackpot games of the developer such as “Greta Blue”, “Frankie Dettori”, “White King”. Moreover, PokerStars is expected to shortly make new additions to the slots titles available, such as the “Age of the Gods” series, “Top Gun”, Gladiator, as well as the DC series.

The news of the newly-signed agreement was confirmed by the Chief Operating Officer of Playtech Shimon Akad, who revealed that everyone were pleased with the fact that the company’s partnership with PokerStars had been extended. According to Mr. Akad, the content distribution collaboration between the two parties would be beneficial for Playtech, considering the fact that the online poker room is currently one of the most popular and well-established brands in the casino and gaming industry.

This is not the only deal that Playtech has secured in 2016. In May this year, the casino and gaming software developer acquired the Swedish online gambling content provider QuickSpin for the price of €50 million. The deal came as part of the supplier’s attempt to boost its gaming development division and consolidate its positions and capabilities on the market.

The Director of casino operations at PokerStars Sam Hobcraft also commented on the deal, saying that they are all very excited about the extended partnership with the casino and gaming software provider as they would be given the chance to offer their customers the best virtual slots games in the business.

Mr. Hobcraft added that the great range of Jackpot games of Playtech would fill “one of the final gaps” in the product offerings of the online poker operator.
