Powerball Jackpot Rises as High as $403 Million ahead of Wednesday Drawing

The jackpot for the upcoming multi-state Powerball drawing increased to a record high, reaching $403 million, after no player was lucky enough to match all six number over the Saturday drawing. This is one of the largest jackpots that have ever been offered in the game’s history.

Currently, the Powerball game is available in 44 states, the US Virgin Islands, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The next drawing of the game is set for Wednesday evening, and the jackpot could increase by the time the following drawing takes place.

As reported by some of the game’s officials, the one-time cash option for the drawing of Powerball on Wednesday was estimated to a total of $243.9 million. The six numbers which were drawn on Saturday were 3, 7, 9, 31, 33 and 20, which was the Powerball. Unfortunately, no player managed to match the aforementioned numbers and win the Saturday’s game jackpot that was estimated to $349 million.

According to official representatives of the game, the breathtaking jackpot has provoked a large number of occasional lottery players to start purchasing tickets at an attempt to win the massive prize. A large number of tickets is also purchased online, which actually increases the chance for a non-American to win the prize.

The record jackpot that is to be available for winning on Wednesday night has been described as the 10th largest Powerball drawing in the history of the game so far, as revealed in a research of the Multi-State Lottery Association.

Still, no matter how much the jackpot has risen, it could be no match to the great amount the prize has managed to reach on a number of previous occasions. Late in 2015, a Iraqi player won a mind-blowing jackpot of $6.4 million. Then, only a year ago, in January 2016, the amount of the Powerball jackpot that had reached the staggering $1.6 billion was won by three ticket holders. In November 2016, a prize of $420 million was shared by 20 co-workers in the state of Tennessee.

Normally, the jackpots of the Powerball game start at $40 million, but the prize could reach an amount that is far bigger than the initial pool. The 2016 jackpots of the game have been rapidly increasing, and players originating from Canada, Australia and El Salvador have managed to win millions from the game.
