GVC Holdings Enhances Spanish Presence with 3 bwin Football Clubs Sponsorships

UK-based online gambling company GVC Holdings has managed to expand its presence on the Spanish betting market thanks to a number of sponsorship agreements inked within a fortnight only through its online betting subsidiary bwin. All three football clubs are considered as some of the best clubs in the country’s La Liga.

Last week, bwin, which is currently one of the leading British bookmakers, has announced two new sponsorship agreements with Spanish football clubs. La Liga’s Sevilla FC and Atletico Madrid were the first two clubs to sign sponsorship agreements with the online sports betting brand of GVC Holdings.

On February 23rd, Atletico Madrid announced that it has entered an official partnership with GVC Holding’s bwin brand. Under the terms of the agreement, the sports betting brand is to be one of the main sponsors of the club in the period from February 2017 to June 2018 and also has an extension option for an additional year.

Last week was also the time when another sponsorship contract with a leading Spanish club was announced for bwin. The company became an official sponsor for Sevilla FC, enlarging its presence in the Spanish sports betting market even more.

The latest partnership agreement with La Liga club Valencia CF was announced on February 27th, with the online betting company becoming an official partner of the club until June 2018. As a sponsor of the team, bwin will be provided with constant presence on the advertising campaigns at Mestalla as well as on the official website of Valencia CF, some digital platforms and media accounts.

The three sponsorship agreements inked by GVC Holding’s bwin brand came as part of the company’s expansion strategy on key European markets. The brand has been seeking to enhance its presence in Spain, reaching more local customers who would get access to its services.

When announcing the deal with Valencia CF, GVC Holding’s Marcus Silva who is responsible for the company’s operations in the Spanish market revealed that the bwin expansion strategy in the Spanish market would be mutually beneficial for both the team and the company. On the other hand, the three sponsorship agreements would provide bwin, hence GVC Holdings with strong presence in the country through the advertising campaigns, which would give them the chance to reach more customers.
