King’s Casino Rozvadov to Host 2017 WSOP Europe in October and November

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) organisers revealed its 2017 WSOP Europe (WSOPE) schedule, saying that the Series would make its way to the Czech Republic for the first time in its history. The WSOP Europe is to feature 11 gold bracelet events which guaranteed prize pools will account to a total of about €17 million.

The 2017 edition of the WSOPE poker festival is to be hosted at the largest poker room on the territory of Europe – the King’s Casino Rozvadov. The poker series is to kick off on October 19th and will end several weeks later, on November 10th, 2017. As already mentioned above, this would also be the first time when the events of the festival would take place in the Czech Republic.

After the casino venue started to host both international and European poker events a few years ago, it has managed to become the biggest poker room on the territory of Europe. Currently, a total of 160 poker tables are hosted at the King’s Casino Rozvadov, with the venue soon planning to open a 5-star hotel offering 250 guest rooms.

When it comes to the WSOPE schedule, the first gold bracelet event – a Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’em event featuring a buy-in of €1,100 with three starting flights – is to kick off on October 19th. The event also offers a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000. It will be followed by 10 other gold bracelet events officially ending on November 10th. All events will feature various buy-ins and starting chip stacks, with the largest buy-ins and chip stacks offered by the high roller events and the Main Event of the Series.

This year, the Colossus No-Limit Hold’em event that features a ten starting flights held in five days from October 27th to October 31st, deserves special attention. The €550 buy-in event has accounted for a record guaranteed prize pool amounting to €2,000,000. According to the organisers of the 2017 WSOPE, this year will see more than 4,000 entrants to take place at the European edition of the Colossus event, which would be the largest player field size ever reached by a live poker tournament in Europe.

Apart from the more standard tournament events such as the Pot Limit Omaha 8-Max, or the No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed, there are three gold bracelet events that stand out in this year’s WSOP Europe schedule. The first one of them, which is to start on November 1st, is the €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller tournament. As revealed by the organisers, it will be followed by the €111,111 High Roller for One Drop with a massive guaranteed prize pool estimated to €10,000,000, which is to kick off on November 3rd.

Of course, the Main Event of every WSOP series is always in the spotlight. This year’s edition of WSOP Europe features a €10,300 buy-in Main Event with two starting flights and a €4,000,000 guaranteed prize. The Main Event is scheduled to start on November 4th-5th.

The Executive Director of the World Series of Poker Ty Stewart commented on the organisers’ choice of the King’s Casino Rozvadov as home of the series, saying that WSOPE had faced some difficulties finding a permanent home since its start in 2007. According to Mr. Stewart, this was the main reason why they had so far failed to find a suitable venue or partner in order to make a perfect replica of the series that took place in Las Vegas. He, however, expressed his support of entrepreneur Leon Tsoukernik and his passion for King’s Casino Rozvadov to host the what is expected to be the best and largest WSOPE to date.
