Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady to Host Capital Region Classic Poker Tournament from May 24-28

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady announced that it will host the first Capital Region Classic poker tournament later in May 2017. The tournament will be held as a multi-day event featuring a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000.

The Capital Region Classic poker tournament is scheduled to take place from May 24th to 28th in the event centre of the Rivers casino. This will be the first major gambling held at the casino venue since its official opening in February 2017. The gaming floor of the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady features a total of 1,1150 slot machines, 16 poker tables as well as 67 gaming tables located on 50,000 square feet.

In addition, Rivers Casino & Resort is one of the four non-Indian Nation casinos made legal by the state authorities back in 2015. The first one of them, Tioga Downs in Nichols officially opened in December 2016. Then, in February 2017, both Del Lago Resort & Casino and Rivers Casino & Resort opened. The fourth casino is set to open in 2018 near Monticello.

Since April this year, a number of smaller poker tournaments have been hosted in the facility. This time, however, it is going to be huge. The organisers of the Capital Region Classic poker tournament have revealed that hundreds of players from the entire region are expected to attend the the event.

The registrations for the multi-day event start on May 17th.

The General Manager of the Rivers Casino & Resort Mary Cheeks said that the poker room of the gaming facility had not stopped working since the day it had been officially opened and encouraged poker lovers to join the upcoming tournament.

The Capital Region Classic is to be held in two gaming days of No Limit Texas Hold’em. In addition, the players will be offered multiple Day 1 flights that are to take place from May 24th to 27th. The tournament chips could be carried over to Day 2 of the event, scheduled for May 28th. The buy-ins for Day 1 amount to $260 in return to 25,000 tournament chips, and unlimited re-entry option will be available. In case that players prefer to bypass earlier flights and and join the game directly at Day 2, they will be required to pay a buy-in of $1,100 in return to 100,000 tournament chips.

As mentioned above, the primary guaranteed prize pool will amount to no less than $100,000, with this figure set to grow accordingly to players’ participation.

The Manager of Rivers Casino & Resort David Grubb also commented on the upcoming tournament, saying that the organisers of the event had been focused on making the first big poker tournament hosted in the facility affordable for players with different skills, experience and bankrolls. According to Mr. Grubb, the unlimited re-entry option as well as the lower buy-ins were reasons good enough to make the Capital Region Classic poker tournament a perfect choice for all kinds of poker players.
