The award-winning sports betting company SBTech announced the official launch of winmasters.com.cy, thanks to which the company has become the first-ever sportsbook platform supplier to set foot in the market of Cyprus. The release came as the next step of the expansion strategy of the operator and was carried out only six months after SBTech signed a partnership contract with Winmasters.
The Chief Executive Officer of SBTech Richard Carter commented on the website release, saying that the launch was timely and successful. He also revealed that it was a great thing for the company to be able to work in collaboration with Winmasters’ Cyprus, and further explained that the strength of this partnership was expected to expand, considering the fact that the operator was very dynamic.
Mr. Carter added that he was very happy with the fact that SBTech was the first sports betting operator who entered the newly-regulated market of Cyprus and revealed that it would be great for the company to be able to keep the trend.
Under both the terms of the agreement and the new web platform launch, Winmasters will be able to provide its Cyprus-based customers with the market-leading sports betting offering of SBTech. The platform would be available in both Greek and English, with a great variety of payment methods included.
Over the past few years, SBTech has become a widely-preferred partner for various companies operating in newly-regulated markets. Previously, the company has been known as the first business-to-business sports betting provider in Portugal, Romania and the Czech Republic. Recently, it has been focused on expanding its reach on a global scale, setting foot in various markets.
On the other hand, Winmasters is to now work in collaboration with SBTech in two regulated territories, after the company has carried out a successful launch in the regulated market of Romania. Now, it has become one of the eight gaming operators who have been issued a Class B license by the Cypriot National Betting Authority.
Christos Protapapas, a Sales and Operations Director of Winmasters, confirmed of the website release, sharing how glad he was with the ongoing relationship with SBTech. He praised the latter’s sportsbook for its power and flexibility, as well as for its back office systems. According to Mr. Protapapas, the high quality of the real-time reporting at SBTech would be greatly beneficial an would deliver solid growth for Winmasters.
The fact that the Cypriot gambling market has recently been regulated, became one of the main reasons why a large number of operators have turned eyes to it, seeking opportunities for further expansion. The country has only recently given the green light to the first integrated casino resort that is planed to be open in Limassol. As the Cypriot Government has previously reported, around €800 million are expected to be contributed to the country’s economy in 2022 thanks to the project.
