Grosvenorsport Inks Sponsorship Agreement with Goodwood’s Celebration Mile

The leading UK betting operator Grosvenorsport.com has entered into its first horse racing sponsorship agreement. The company has been officially announced as Celebration Mile at Goodwood Racecourse’s new sponsor

The General Manager of Goodwood Racecourse Alex Eade commented on the agreement, saying that it was a great thing Grosvenorsport was welcomed as a sponsor of the Celebration Mile. He also projected that the competition was set to be a stellar renewal in 2017. Mr. Eade also described the Grosvenor Sport Celebration Mile as a major contest not only for Goodwood, but also in the UK racing calendar. According to him, the competition has demonstrated what a popular meeting for racegoers should look like.

As a matter of fact, the race is considered the most important one at the Bank Holiday meeting of Goodwood in August – a race that has previously seen Raven’s Pass, Selkirk and Cape Cross emerge as winners.

After the confirmation period of five days, there are currently 16 entries which have good chances to succeed in the contest, which features a prize pool estimated to £100,000. The Celebration Mile competition will also include a number of famous contenders, such as the French-trained Taareef, Beat The Bank that is the victor of the Qatar Goodwood Festival as well as the 2016 winner Lightning Spear.

Currently, Beat The Bank and last year’s winner Lightning Spear have both been installed 11/4 joint favorities by the Grosvenorsport. The French-trained Taareef is considered to have a 7/2 chance of winning. Moreover, an exclusive ratio of 10/1 for the horse that wins the Grosvenor Sport Celebration Mile is also being offered by Grosvenorsport.

Lightning Spear remains as one of the main favourites to become the second horse ever that have registered back-to-back victories in the Goodwood’s Celebration Mile race. The six-year-old horse is likely to try to surpass Chic that won the Group Two in 2004/2005. on the other hand, Beat The Bank is also considered one of the possible winners, as he could look to follow up his success in the Thoroughbred Stakes.

The new sponsorship agreement was confirmed by the boss of Grosvenor Sport, Steve Munns, who said how excited everyone working at the brand were for the fact they would be Grosvenor Sport Celebration Mile’s sponsors. Mr. Munns also described the race as one of the greatest ones ever, and shared that it is held at one of the most picturesque racecourses on a global scale.

The Head of Grosvenor Sport explained that since this was the brand’s horseracing sponsorship, they were planning to further extend the number of their partnership agreements in the future. He confirmed that horseracing was very important to the brand, which would like to be recognised as one of the main brands which give their constant support to British racing.
