Unibet Becomes First Gambling Operator in the UK to Integrate Gamban’s Software in Online Self-Exclusion Services

The online sports betting and casino gambling operator Unibet, part of Kindred Group, is set to become the first betting brand in the UK to integrate the blocking software of Gamban into its self-exclusion process.

This is the second time when Kindred Group partners with Gamban after they first joined forces in April 2018. Now the online gambling operator has extended the two companies’ relationship across its Unibet brand in order to bolster its responsible gambling policy and help players self-exclude themselves from the website for a longer period of time.

The extended collaboration between the parties would offer an innovative approach to further help people who want to stay away from gambling with Unibet on its website. Kindred Group has been the first operator to provide its customers with free blocking gambling software licenses and was also the first one to use responsible gambling procedures, including the PS-EDS detection system.

Now, Kindred would also become the first to start offering the blocking software of Gamban through its Unibet brand. Online self-exclusion would equal the length of the period off-line and it would be available as a new addition to the existing one-year offer which is already provided by Gamban. The access of all Unibet customers to the new online gambling self-exclusion service would be unlimited and free of charge.

Unibet’s Responsible Gambling Policy Enhanced with Gamban’s New Product

The General Manager of Kindred in the UK, Neil Banbury, has explained that promotion of responsible gambling has been among the top priorities of the Group, so the integration of Gamban’s new product within the Unibet brand’s own self-exclusion process is a great step forward.

The promotion of responsible gambling has been considered a matter of paramount importance for the UK gambling sector. For a few years now, gambling regulators in the country have been requiring from gambling operators both off- and online to make sure their customers are well-protected against gambling-related harm and are able to make informed choices about their gambling.

Now, all customers of Unibet would have access to the Gamban’s product for free – a move which according to Mr Banbury has definitely been a step in the right direction. Kindred’s General Manager further noted that the group intends to keep investing across all its brands and in other socially responsible innovations in the months to come.

The software provided by Gamban can be downloaded across multiple devices to block access to more than 30,000 online gambling websites, both regulated and unregulated ones. A recent study held by GambleAware found that Gamban is up to 99% effective when it comes to blocking local customers from accessing gambling websites.

The Chief Executive Officer of Gamban, Jack Symons, has confirmed the integration of the company’s service with Unibet. Mr Symons further shared that self-exclusion services must evolve so that most vulnerable individuals are well protected in different aspects, including ID, device and spend. The period of the online self-exclusion could vary from six months to up to five years.
