Online Gambling Operator Videoslots Unveils New Mandatory Monthly Loss Limits to Protect UK Customers from Possible Gambling Harm

Online casino Videoslots has introduced new obligatory loss limits applicable to all its players on the territory of the UK.

The mandatory loss limits have been enforced as a new safety measure aimed at protecting British players during the Covid-19 pandemic, as online gambling participation rates have been rising during the coronavirus outbreak while most people are forced to stay at home. The online casino operator shared that it hopes the freshly-adopted loss limits will keep their customers safe without depriving them of their fun.

As revealed by Videoslots, the online casino operator’s customers will be required to set personal monthly loss limits on their own before they are permitted to place their first wagers on any game offered by the gambling website. Once the loss limits are implemented, it will take seven days for them to be able to make any changes on the already set limits. During this period, the responsible gambling team of the operator are to contact players in order to comment on the changes that customers have been willing to bring to the limits.

The Malta-based online casino company shared that the above-mentioned changes have been implemented across customer accounts within its jurisdiction in the UK.

Videoslos Says It Expects Other Gambling Companies to Follow Suit

Alexander Stevendahl, chief executive officer of Videoslots, has commented on the measure regarding the implementation of mandatory monthly loss limits saying that the gambling environment available on the company’s website should have provided customers with a safe and enjoyable form of entertainment that did not put them at risk.

Mr Stevendahl further explained that the measure was unveiled by the operator because of the coronavirus pandemic as protecting their customers was the right thing to do at a time when the gambling industry moves forward and an increasing number of British residents are getting oriented to online gambling. He also shared that Videoslots now expects fellow gambling companies to follow suit and implement similar mandatory loss limits to their customers to protect them from being affected by possible gambling-related harm.

As shared by the company’s official, the changes were introduced to add to the safety measures of the UK Government and gambling regulators and demonstrated Videoslots’ dedication to responsible gambling. Recently, many campaigners have shared fears that UK customers could turn their eyes to online gambling at a time when all retail gambling services in the country are unavailable due to a massive shutdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The move has also coincided with the official adoption of the ban on credit cards use in gambling services that was enacted on April 14th and under which the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) suspended local players from making money transactions to their accounts with gambling operators.
