Today, West Ham United revealed in a statement published on its official website that it stroke a partnership deal with Betway. It is considered as the biggest sponsorship deal in the entire history of West Ham to date. Under the terms of the agreement, the global online gambling company has been appointed as main sponsor of the Premier League football club for three more years until the end of the 2019/20 season.
The Vice-Chairman of the British football club Karren Brady confirmed the news and expressed her delight with the agreement. According to Mrs. Brady, the newly-reached agreement comes to prove that West Ham United is making progress, especially now when they are to settle into their new stadium.
Mrs. Brady commented on the deal and explained that everyone at the football club were quite happy with the extension of the relationship between the football club and the online gaming operator. She added that the Betway agreement is the largest commercial deal in the history of the football club so far. According to Mrs. Brady, West Ham United had made progress that is more rapid than the one of any other Premier League club over the past couple of years.
In addition, she emphasized on the fact that Betway had supported the football club over two of its most important years in its history, at a time when West Ham United left their former home at Boleyn Ground and moved to the London Stadium. The Vice-Chairman of the football club revealed that the revenue generated thanks to the deal would be re-invested in West Ham’s playing squad and would provide it with the chance to remain focused on becoming even more successful over the upcoming years.
The original partnership deal between the football club and Betway was initially reached in February last year. Due to the fact that the collaboration between the two parties has been quite successful to date, both West Ham and the online gambling operator decided to secure an extension of the agreement.
