Rank Group Inks Contract Extension with Playtech

One of the most successful gaming operators on the territory of the UK – the Rank Group – has reached a major contract extension to its Playtech agreement. Under the deal, the table and slot management systems of Playtech is to be fully-implemented in all 54 land-based UK Grosvenor casinos of Rank Group in the country.

The Director of Finance of Grosvenor Casinos Richard Playle commented on the contract extension, assessing the project of the company’s managing systems replacement as very successful. He explained that the brand’s team had remained focused on providing a wide range of technical challenges and innovative business solutions, so it had managed to successfully launch a system that would perform flawlessly across the estate.

According to Mr. Playle, the gaming systems migration of the Grosvenor brand to Playtech would provide it with the chance to finalise the process of modernisation and player experience improvement. He also said that the Playtech contract extension would allow the UK Grosvenor casinos to complete their vision for a single account and wallet option across both land-based and online operations.

The announcement of the contract extension comes only a year after the initial partnership agreement between the two companies was inked. In 2016, the two companies joined forces in a collaboration deal under which the Neon casino management system was implemented in the casino venues of the Grosvenor brand across the country. The initial deal between the companies resulted in bringing significant revenues to the Rank Group, after the Neon system was first implemented by Playtech across the 54 Grosvenor venues in the UK in 2016.

Under the terms of the new project agreement, the Neon Slots system of Playtech is set to be implemented in the 3,000 electronic gaming machines of run by the Grosvenor casinos in their land-based venues. Also, the Neon Tables iPad application would cover the 650 gaming tables of Grosvenor.

Currently, the Neon system developed by the Playtech subsidiary IGS, is considered as the best retail casino system in terms of technical advancement. It provides operators with a browser-based HTML5 user interface by using Microsoft Azure.

The migration from the already existing system to Neon is planned to be carried out through the 54 casinos over the second half of 2017.

Thanks to the agreement, the positions of Playtech as one of the market leaders in the omni-channel gaming solutions business were enhanced. The innovative Playtech ONE suite of software services and solutions’ positions were also further strengthened.

The Managing Director of the subsidiary of Playtech Retail – Intelligent Gaming, Martin Sykes, confirmed of the extended partnership deal, describing Rank’s Grosvenor brand as the largest casino operator in the country and praised it as one of the brands that stick to technical innovations.

Mr. Sykes explained that Playtech had made sure they developed new features, optimised Neon and did everything necessary for the table and slot management systems to be integrated in the 54 venues of the Grosvenor casinos brand.
