CasExe Research Highlights iGaming Operators’ Difficulties with Fraud, Payment Systems and Content

A recent survey carried out by the research department of the gaming software developer CasExe, revealed that most iGaming operators face fraud-related problems.

The survey, which was conducted from in the period from Jule to July 2017, determined that 94% of gaming companies have regular problems with fraud. A total of 50 gambling companies that operate in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took part in the survey conducted by the research department of CasExe.

Fraud

As mentioned above, the majority of the survey’s respondents – a total of 94% – have revealed that they face fraud-related problems on a regular basis. Most proprietors of online gaming companies that have taken part in the survey shared their concern about the number of bonus hunter, with a total of 85% of the operators having faced such a type of fraudulent activity.

It turns out that multi-accounting is also among the most common problems iGaming operators deal with. The CasExe poll has showed that is an issue that is faced by approximately 75% of the survey’s respondents. More than a third of the participants highlight financial fraud troubles as another serious problem normally faced by iGaming operators. Another 31% of the companies recognise other types of cheating as a serious setback for them.

Payment Systems

According to the survey conducted by CasExe’s reseach department, 82% of the Internet gaming business owners are not satisfied with the payment systems integrated and used on their online casino websites.

The biggest problem related to payment systems in the iGaming industry is probably the fact that most of them are not allowed in certain regions. A total of 72% of the surveyed participants find it hard to deal with payments’ regional restricted acceptance.

It also became clear that more than half of iGaming operators who took part in the survey highlight payment delays and time-taking financial gambling operations as another issue related to online gambling services. Also, more than one third of the respondents – a total of 34% – have revealed that online payment systems used in iGaming websites usually offer banking fees which are too high, hence unreasonable for gambling operators.

Payment delays or failures of the payment software incorporated in gambling websites has been considered as one of the main problems faced by 19% of the operators that took part in CasExe’s survey.

Content

Fraud- and payment system-related problems have been faced by a great number of online gambling operators, with some of them also expressing their concern related to gaming content. Almost half of the survey’s respondents revealed that gaming content on their websites could also be a problem.

A total of 65% of these companies have noted quite frequent winning chains in online slots. On the other hand, 44% of the participants shared they not satisfied by the suggested commercial terms of cooperation, while almost one third of them, on the other hand, have noticed technical problems related to their content.

It also turns out that affiliates could also be a problem. One part of of the respondents have said they are not happy with their affiliates, while about 19% of the participants have reported problems with their Internet casino platforms providers.

Conclusion

The survey carried out by the research department of CasExe only came to prove that the industry’s environment must be made suitable for online gambling companies. The latter’s operations also need to be optimised in various aspects.

Speaking of making the business environment more adaptive, the UK gambling regulatory body has already unveiled a new enforcement strategy for gaming operators. The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) have also raised standards for iGaming operators in order to enhance customer protection and raise awareness of possible harm that gambling could have on customers’ lives.

A number of other European countries have also chosen to implement tighter regulations in terms of offline and online gaming operations to better control local gambling markets and to make sure that both companies and customers operate in a safe environment.
