Yggdrasil Gaming Applies for Italian License as Part of Expansion Strategy

Online and mobile casino games provider Yggdrasil Gaming announced that it is to set foot in Italy. The company confirmed that it has started the process of platform and games certification in line with the technical requirements of the Italian market. This will be the first time when the gaming offerings of the company are to be available to Italian customers, which would help the provider stick to its expansion strategy in one of the most lucrative jurisdictions in Europe.

This move once again highlights the fact that Yggdrasil is interested in going live in global regulated markets. The company has already acquired licenses in the UK, Gibraltar, Malta and Romania.

Yggdrasil Gaming also revealed that eleven of its most popular and widely-recognised games are planned to go live first in the regulated market of Italy. The games release, which includes some of the most-love games of the provider including Vikings Go Wild, Dark Joker Rizes and Holmes and the Stolen Stones, is planned for the second fiscal quarter of 2017.

The Chief Executive Officer of Yggdrasil Fredrik Elmqvist commented on the company’s announcement, saying that it was high time for Yggdrasil to set foot Italy, describing the country as one of the fastest-growing gaming markets on a global scale. The operator’s boss explained that several operators related to Yggdrasil had already been active in the country, so opening a certification procedure was a logical decision.

Mr. Emqvist also added that the entire team of the company was very happy with the fact that they would be present in the jurisdiction of Italy and further revealed that Yggdrasil had already started negotiations with some of the key domestic operators. He revealed that the online and mobile casino software provider was set to meet more potential partners at ENADA Primavera that is to take place in Rimini this March and confirmed that the company’s team was ready to face the challenges that the Italian gambling market would pose to them.

As revealed by Yggdrasil itself, local casino and gaming operators would be provided with the change to reach the diversified portfolio of BOOST, the in-game promotional tools of the company. The social sharing tool of Yggdrasil Gaming, called BRAG, will also be provided to Italian customers.

Also, the HTML5 iSENSE 2.0 platform of the company is to go live in Italy at the time when Yggdrasil is certified to operate on the territory of the country. Considering the fact that a lot of domestic operators are still focused on implementing innovative solutions on their mobile channels, the aforementioned platform is expected to attract their interest, especially with its easy integration and simultaneous releases on both desktop and mobile devices.
