Key Moments:
- Hacksaw Group (STO: HACK) introduced a B2B prediction markets platform on October 15.
- The platform launch follows a trading update revealing Q3 revenue growth of approximately 11–12%.
- The Malta Gaming Authority approved the license extension to include Type 3 Gaming Services ahead of launch.
Strategic Entry Into Prediction Markets
Hacksaw Group (STO: HACK) has taken a significant step to diversify its offerings with the launch of a B2B prediction markets platform. This move is aimed at expanding beyond the company’s core iGaming segment, as revenue growth has shown signs of deceleration.
Regulatory Approvals and Platform Features
The official announcement was made on October 15, following the Malta Gaming Authority’s approval to broaden the scope of Hacksaw’s B2B Critical Gaming Supply License. With this development, Hacksaw is now authorized to operate Type 3 Gaming Services and deliver peer-to-peer prediction market solutions within Malta’s regulatory framework.
“Prediction markets represent a compelling new opportunity at the intersection of technology, entertainment and market participation,” said Verdir in the launch announcement.
“We believe our existing platform, distribution capabilities and operator relationships position us exceptionally well to help businesses participate in this category.”
Leveraging Existing Strengths
The company has built the platform using its present technology and development resources, ensuring no increase in its operational cost base. Marcus Cordes, Operational CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, commented on how the company’s established operator partnerships may facilitate a smoother market entry.
“Because we already work closely with operators across multiple jurisdictions, we believe we can provide a streamlined path to market while leveraging the technology, integrations and commercial infrastructure that we have spent years developing,” Cordes said.
Expanding Product Portfolio
By introducing this new platform, Hacksaw Group now broadens its reach beyond online slots, scratch cards, and crash games. The company referred to Bernstein research, which projects prediction market trading volumes could approach $1 trillion annually by 2030.
This expansion aligns with Hacksaw’s strategy to capitalize on rising interest in prediction markets, while making use of its established technological and operational resources.
Revenue Growth Update
Just ahead of the platform launch, Hacksaw disclosed a preliminary trading update on October 12, highlighting more moderate growth for the third quarter. The company anticipates Q3 revenue between €57.5 million ($67 million) and €58.5 million ($68 million), translating to an 11–12% increase.
| Period | Revenue | Growth |
|---|---|---|
| Q3 2026 (expected) | €57.5m ($67m) – €58.5m ($68m) | 11–12% |
| Q2 2026 | Not specified | 31% |
| Full year 2025 | Not specified | 44% |
Hacksaw attributed the decelerated growth to softer market conditions and underperformance by its games.
“Growth in the third quarter of 2026 was more moderate than during our recent history,” Verdir said.
“At the same time, we continue to expand our customer base through new signings and focus on extending our reach into additional markets with our existing customers.”
Despite these challenges, Hacksaw has reaffirmed its long-term financial targets and indicated that it will release its full Q3 interim report on November 3.
