WPT and Genco Forge Pact to Bring Poker Products to Market

Key Moments:

  • World Poker Tour (WPT) and Genco International have executed a multi-year manufacturing and distribution agreement
  • The partnership will allow Genco to produce and distribute a full line of WPT-branded poker products, launching in the latter half of 2025
  • Genco previously acquired Kroeger Inc., assuming $7.3 million in liabilities during formal insolvency proceedings

Strategic Collaboration Unveiled

World Poker Tour (WPT) has entered into a multi-year agreement with Genco International, granting Genco the exclusive opportunity to manufacture and distribute WPT-branded poker merchandise within North America. This transaction also involves Kroeger Marketing, a Genco subsidiary, leveraging its logistical and distribution infrastructure to reach fans across the region.

Product Portfolio and Distribution Plans

Under the terms of the new partnership, Genco receives the rights to design, manufacture, and distribute an extensive selection of WPT-branded items. The collection will include poker sets, casino-grade chips, cards, shufflers, chutes, accessories for home games, and table covers. Retail pricing for the initial lineup will range from $4.99 to $149.99, with availability projected for the second half of 2025 through various major retail, online, and direct-to-consumer channels.

Leadership and Facilitation

Loc Sondheim, Vice President of WPT Studios, expressed support for the agreement, stating, “This collaboration brings the WPT experience into people’s home games, giving players the tools to elevate their games and feel like a real poker pro, sharing in the excitement of tournament play.” Rubin Beige, Co-CEO of Genco International LLC, reflected, “WPT has earned global credibility in the poker world, and now all players can have access to the same quality products and experiences as seen on TV, in their homes.”

The negotiation and structuring of this partnership were arranged by All American Licensing and Management Group, operated by Timothy and Don Rothwell. Timothy Rothwell has prior experience as President of Marvel Entertainment’s WW Consumer Products division and Senior Vice President of Consumer Products Division at Universal Studios, while Don Rothwell is a co-founder and previously served as Managing Director of Licensing Business Development and Retail at NASCAR.

Recent Acquisition of Kroeger Inc.

Genco’s expansion follows its acquisition of Kroeger Inc., which occurred after Kroeger underwent formal insolvency proceedings and bankruptcy. At the time of acquisition, Kroeger Inc. had $7.3 million in outstanding liabilities, with Pathward National Association as the secured lender owed approximately $1.1 million. Grant Chapman, newly appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Kroeger, commented, “This acquisition marks a new era for Kroeger. We’ve stabilized the foundation and are now looking forward to expanding our portfolio, enhancing our technology stack, and bringing innovation to every level of our supply chain.”

Genco’s collaboration with WPT aligns with its strategy to capitalize on new ventures following its acquisition of Kroeger Inc.
