Industry Collaboration Takes Shape

A group of gambling operators in Serbia have formally introduced the Association of Game of Chance Organisers, known locally as Udruženje Priređivača Igara na Sreću (SPIS), during a launch event at Belgrade’s Sava Center. The new association aims to uphold responsibility, transparency, and collaborative efforts within the Serbian gaming market. SPIS has stated its core mission is to raise business standards, protect players, and contribute to the industry’s positive image and growth.

Commitment to Responsible Gaming

SPIS plans to focus on fostering legal and transparent practices among its members while advocating for regulatory improvements and encouraging the free exchange of ideas between operators, experts, and government authorities. The organization has committed to prioritizing player protection, addiction prevention, and maintaining public confidence in the industry.

First CSR Initiative Launched

Marking its proactive approach, SPIS introduced its first corporate social responsibility initiative under the slogan “One is many,” in partnership with the Special Hospital for Addictive Diseases in Drajzerova Street, Belgrade. The project targets teenagers involved in sports clubs, aiming to educate them on addiction prevention and risky gambling behaviors.

Leadership and Vision

Director Nevena Marković (second from left in the photo) said: “Our industry employs thousands of people, contributes to public revenues and invests in the development of technology, but our equally important task is to show society that games of chance can be safe and responsible entertainment.

“SPIS was born from the need to systematically nurture these values through codes, education and active cooperation with the state and the civil sector. Our ambition is to be a reliable partner in shaping the future of this industry”

Slobodan Prodanović, general manager of Mozzart, and Savo Bakmaz, general manager of the MaxBet, also spoke at the launch event, stressing a common vision and mission and the importance of mutual cooperation for further development of the gaming industry in Serbia.

SPIS Appoints Its Ambassador

Former basketball player Igor Rakočević was presented as the ambassador of the new association. He said that the principles on which SPIS is based are also important from the perspective of sports, education and social responsibility.

“No institution, company or individual can achieve change alone. Only when we work together, when we share responsibility and when our goal is the common good, then real and lasting values are created. That’s why I’m especially glad that SPIS shows from the first day that social responsibility is not just a phrase, but a real obligation,“ he said.
