Topping-Off Event to Mark Construction Progress
The Catawba Nation and its development partners are preparing to host a topping-off ceremony at the permanent Catawba Two Kings Casino Resort in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The event will take place on October 27 and will feature remarks from Catawba Nation Chief Brian Harris as well as other speakers. During the ceremony, a beam previously signed by Catawba leaders and local officials will be lifted by crane and secured as the final structural beam of the property.
Hotel and Casino Construction Advancements
Construction on the project’s 24-story hotel, which will offer 385 rooms, has progressed to the building’s full height. The hotel is currently being linked to the casino as part of the ongoing build-out. A photo captured in June 2025 illustrates the state of construction at that point in time.
Expansion Plans and Project Phasing
The opening of the casino’s initial phase is targeted for spring 2026. This phase will introduce 1,350 slot machines, 22 table games, a restaurant, a bar, sports betting kiosks, and a rewards desk. Upon completion, the introductory venue will supersede the existing temporary casino, which began operations in July 2021.
The full-scale main casino complex is projected to welcome guests in spring 2027. With an anticipated footprint of approximately 2 million square feet, the resort will showcase 4,300 slot machines, 100 table games, 11 restaurants, a players lounge, 11 bars, and 3,500 parking spaces.
