Live Poker Tournaments to Kick Off in UK and Ireland in January

The New Year brought a large number of poker series and tournaments to live not only in the UK and Ireland, but on a global scale, too. Still, British and Irish poker lovers are provided with a large variety of chances to join some fantastic poker events and tournaments across the country this January.

The first day of January saw a total of three tournaments kick off. Two of them were hosted in Luton, while the third one was hosted in Reading. The first poker tournament to start in the UK in January was the January Comp Special, which kicked off at the Grosvenor G Casino in Luton. The event is a No Limit Hold’em one with a buy-in of £140 and offers a guaranteed prize pool of £18,000. The Grosvenor Casino in Luton saw another poker event start at the same day. The New Years Day Special featuring a £140 buy-in No Limit Hold’em was won by Shane Dewsbury.

Then, the New Years Day tournament followed, kicking off at the Genting Club Reading. The No Limit Hold’em event, which offered a buy-in of £25 was won by Ronald Cox.

Poker lovers in the UK and Ireland will be given the chance to enjoy the LSPkr 30/30 Series which is scheduled to kick off on January 5th at Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport in Swords. The Main Event of the Series will last from January 5th to 8th, offering a buy-in of €80, as well as a guaranteed prize pool estimated to €30,000.

Then, on January 6th the Rendezvous Casino in Brighton will host the Red Lounge Re-Launch tournament. The £46 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em event offers a guaranteed prize pool of £4,000. The same casino venue in Brighton will also host the 2017 edition of the Rendezvous Poker Festival, which is to kick off on January 7th and will be through on January 15th, with Final Day of the tournament’s £10,000 Main Event.

The Grosvenor 25/25 Series is another poker tournament to start in January, kicking off at the Grosvenor Casino in Walsall on January 12nd. There will be three Day 1s and a Day 2 that will see the tournament close on January 15th. There will also be two other events of the Grosvenor 25/25 Series – the one that is to be held at the Grosvenor Casino Bury New Road in Manchester between January 19th and 22nd and the one at the Grosvenor Casino in Southampton from January 26th to January 29th.

One of the most-expected events to start over the first month of the year is the First Leg of the Genting Poker Series’ 2017 edition. The events of the Series are to be hosted at the Genting Casino Luton from January 14th to January 22nd and will mark the start of one of the most-loved poker tournaments that are currently available at the territory of the UK and Ireland.

Another interesting poker tournament – the Planet Earth Poker Tour – is to kick off on January 18th at the Regency Airport Hotel in Dublin. Several Satellites, a Main Event, and a number of other events are included in the tournament’s schedule to be trough on January 22nd.

The Northern Poker Cup is also to be held in January, starting on January 20th at the Green Isle Hotel in Dublin. The event will be trough on January 22nd. At the end of the month, the Clonmel Park Hotel is to host the Clonmel Coursing Festival from January 27th to 30th.

The capital of the UK is to host one of the largest and most popular poker events held on the territory of the country – the PokerStars Festival London. It is to take place at the Hippodrome Casino in London between January 22nd and January 29th and includes a great variety of poker events, as well as a £990 Buy-in Main Event.

And last, but not least, another large poker series is to kick off at the end of the month. The Poker Room formerly The Vic in London is to host Leg 1 of this year’s edition of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT), which is to start on January 29th and will be through on February 5th.
