Jean-Pascal Savard Emerges Victorious from partypoker Million North America Main Event

The young Canadian poker player Jean-Pascal Savard was crowned as the winner of the Main Event of partypoker Million North America. To win the Main Event, Savard managed to outlast a field of a total of 1,168 entries who gathered at the Playground Poker Club in Canada for the Main Event of partypoker Million North America.

The player also took home a massive guaranteed prize pool portion of CA$956,000 ($696,169), which is also the best live cash ever won by Savard. To date, the Canadian’s total live earnings amount to $1,566,896.

Poker players who wanted to take part in the tournament’s Main Event were given the chance to qualify over live and online satellites, Phase 1 qualifiers and Day 1s. They accounted for a record guaranteed prize pool of CA$5,709,750, which is the largest one so far in the history of Canada poker. However, the only the first 119 players were destined to share the guaranteed prize pool, with the smallest cash portion amounting to CA$10,000.

Day 3 of the partypoker Million North America Main Event saw Steve Warburton became the bubble boy who was eliminated in 120th place. With him leaving the competition, the money bubble burst, setting the smallest cash prize to CA$10,000. Some of the most popular contemporary poker players, including the partypoker ambassador Sam Trickett, Sam Greenwood, Jason Koon, Scott Montgomery, Vojtech Ruzicka, Darren Elias, etc.

By the time Day 5 started, there were only five players left around the final table, each of them with their eyes on the prize. Also, each of them was guaranteed $80,000.

It took a total of 52 hands before the first player got eliminated from the final table, with Rayan Chamas being the one who occupied the eighth position. One by one, the players were leaving the final table, until only two of them were left.

At the time when there were only two players around the table, it was Savard who had the chip lead over Bussieres. However, despite the fact that Savard held 747 million in chips to Bussieres’ 395 million in chips, the two of them decided to make a deal, under which Bussieres was to get CA$693,950, and Savard was to get CA$791,000. A cash portion of CA$165,000 was left for the winner, as well as the Main Event trophy. At the end, it was Savard who was crowned as the partypoker Million North America Main Event champion.

With Jean-Pascal Savard occupying the first position in the partypoker Million North America Main Event ranking taking home a prize of CA$956,000 after a two-way deal, Jonathan Bussieres occupied the runner-up position. He was granted with a cash portion of CA$693,950 after a heads-up deal. Philippe D’Auteuil remained third, scooping a CA$450,000 portion of the guaranteed prize pool.

The fourth place in the ranking was taken by Louis Boutin, followed by Ari Engel. Nial Farrell remained sixth, while Matthew Waxman and Rayan Chamas occupied the seventh and eighth positions, respectively.
