The final day for both the WSOP Circuit Harrah’s New Orleans and the WSOP 2016/2017 season as a whole has come. Only two players are to be announced as gold ring winners, as well as the full list of qualifiers for the Global Casino Championship.
The Main Event of the series at the Harrah’s New Orleans started on Friday and Saturday, featuring a buy-in of $1,675 and a pair of starting flights. The event managed to attract a combined players field of a total of 758 entries, only 144 of whom returned for the second day of the Main Event. Over the WSOP Circuit Harrah’s New Orleans Main Event Day 2, their number was reduced to 10.
As mentioned above, there were only 144 players who managed to outlast their opponents from Day 1A and 1B. Over the fast-paced gameplay, their number was reduced even more relatively quickly, with Rene McDaniel being the one who busted the money bubble. After that, everyone who remained in the game were guaranteed a portion of at least $2,831 for their efforts.
A number of popular poker players, including Peter Dominic, Johanssy Joseph, Phillip Hui and Jonathan Hilton, unfortunately, did not manage to get a cash portion of the guaranteed prize pool as they got eliminated earlier. Still, there were some notable players who did got a cash prize, such as Loni Harwood, Nadya Magnus, Joe Tehan, Kyle Cartwright and Josh Hillock.
The competition got really fierce, especially in the final levels of the game, with some of them losing and winning a number of huge pots. At the time when there were only 11 players remaining, one of the biggest pots of the tournament went down between Jeff Trudeau and Harold Kizzire, taking Kizzire to the top of the chip counts and ranked him second in the night’s ranking.
It is Jason Baldridge who proceeds as a chip leader to the final day of the WSOP Harrah’s New Orleans Main Event’s final day, holding a total of 2,605,000. Despite the fact that Baldridge did not make great impression by confronting the rest of his opponents, he is to return with the largest chip stack and has all the chances of becoming a WSOP Circuit ring bearer. He is closely followed by Hal Kizzire, who has 2,235,000 in chips. William Tait is third with 1,955,000 in chips.
Jeff Bromberger is fifth, followed by Jett Schencker. For the time being, Caufman Talley remains sixth, while John Cressend is currently seventh. The eight position is occupied by Ryan Leng, followed by Gabriel Andrage. Jeff Turton is last, holding 560,000 in chips before the start of the Main Event Day 3.
The ten players are set to return for the final table, each of them hoping to be crowned as a winner and take home the lion’s share of the guaranteed prize pool – a $227,412 cash prize as well as a WSOP Circuit ring.
