World Poker Tour 2019 Comes in the UK with a £1.5 Million GTD Main Event

Two of the largest poker brands today, World Poker Tour and partypokerLIVE have prepared fantastic news for all British poker pros – the World Poker Tour (WPT) returns to Dusk Till Dawn Poker & Casino Nottingham in 2019. The festival will run for two weeks and its biggest highlight will be the £1.5 Million GTD Main Event.

The World Poker Tour has recently revealed some of the dates for the upcoming season and the partypokerLIVE website has now published the schedule for WPT UK 2019. The festival will be hosted at the Dusk Till Dawn Poker & Casino Nottingham from September 22 until October 6. The choice of a venue is not surprising – it has previously hosted the WPT UK, as well as many other poker tournaments and major events. Being UK’s largest dedicated poker room, the Dusk Till Dawn can accommodate 500 players at a time, with the option to expand its capacity during popular events.

Poker pros and all enthusiasts in the UK will be able to take part in the tournaments during WPT UK 2019, which is organized in partnership with partypokerLIVE. The most exciting event, however, will be the £3,300 Main Event that comes with a £1,500,000 guarantee (US$1.9 million) and is expected to attract players from the United Kingdom, as well as from Europe and North America. They are given the option to qualify in the two online flights that will run on the partypoker network.

In addition, there will be three opening flights, beginning on September 30 at Dusk Till Dawn Poker & Casino Nottingham. The structure will be the same for the three flights – players will start with 30,000 in chips and will need to progress through eight 60-minute levels. All survivors will return for Day 2 of the Main Event on October 3, while the fifth Final Day of the tournament will be held on Sunday, October 6 with 90-minute levels.

Side Events Sheduled for WPT UK 2019

Alongside the £1.5 Million GTD Main Event, organizers have prepared several side events that would allow players to fight for attractive cash prizes. Currently, there are six additional tournaments planned for WPT UK 2019, but the final schedule is yet to be released, so an extra two or three events might be expected. The festival kicks off with a £500,000 GTD Opener, which has three online flights and seven live opening flights that start Friday, October 27. The WPT Opener has a buy-in of £550 (£500+50) and is currently the only side event with a guaranteed prize pool.

The festival features several other tournaments with structures and buy-ins that would appeal to every type of player. The third event is the WPTDeepStacks (October 3-6) where entry costs £1,650, while there will also be a single-day Pot Limit Omaha event on October 6, which has a buy-in of £1,100. Other tournaments that will run for only one day are the £220 WPT Ladies Event on October 5 and the £550 6 Max Turbo on October 6.

Of course, high-stakes players would find the £10,300 High Roller much more exciting. It starts with £1,100 satellites on October 3 and 4 and runs through Sunday, October 6, when the High Roller Champion will be crowned.
