Alexandru Papazian Leads Final 14 into EPT Barcelona €10,300 Single Re-Entry Final Day

The EPT Barcelona €10,300 Single Re-Entry tournament offered tons of excitement to both fans and entrants and at the end there were 14 players who survived the day. In comparison, their number at the beginning of the day was 125 and decreased to 14 after 10 levels of one hour each.

Chip leaders were quickly switching their places, some of the big names in the poker industry busted at quite an early stage and at the end, it was Alexandru Papazian who finished the day as a chip leader. His latest accomplishment was the first place at the €25,000 High Roller event at the EPT Grand Final and his fans are impatient to see how the game action will unfold today. The 14 survivors will return to the final tables at 12:30 pm to determine the final eight and play down to a winner.

According to released information, as many as 240 entrants took part in the tourney. As many as 45 of them took advantage of the re-entry option. The accumulated prize pool was €2,328,000 and the first place prize was set at €413,000.

Some of the popular names in the entrants’ list were Davidi Kitai, Liv Boeree, Stephen Chidwick, Pratyush Buddiga, Anthony Zinno, Pierre Neuville, Dzmitry Urbanovich.

Igor Yaroshevskyy, Patrick Leonard, Sergey Lebedev, Pavel Plesuv, Marcin Chmielewski and the chip leader Papazian are the players who will be at Table one. Table two consists of 8 players, including Yang Zhang, Markku Koplimaa, Nick Petrangelo, but the tables will be balanced before the start of the final play.

According to fans, the final 14 is comprised of a mixture of online poker pros and high rollers, but there are a few names that are not familiar to the mass audience as well.

Although all 14 players are eyeing the first place and the biggest financial award of €413,000, the payout table says that the player who occupies the 14th position in the tourney would receive €30,260. The runner-up would pocket €285,410 and the player eliminated in third place would get €220,230 of the accumulated prize pool.

One of the major changes regarding this year’s EPT is the change is the payouts expansion. For EPT13, the payouts were expanded to 20% of the field with the aim of enhancing the live poker experience and making the live events even more enjoyable.
