Steve O’Dwyer Gets 5th in GPI Ranking

At the latest update of the Global Poker Index (GPI) ranking, Steve O’Dwyer occupied the fifth place, following Fedor Holz, Nick Petrangelo and Byron Kaverman, who currently occupy the first, second and third position respectively. Jason Mercier, on the other hand, occupies the fourth place, but holds a very small lead on O’Dwyer.

The 32-year-old US player has managed to generate all-time earnings of $15,779,659. His live best cash is estimated to $1,872,580 to date.

The player took part in several poker tournaments and events in 2016. Most recently, he participated in two events of EPT-13-ESPT-7 Barcelona. O’Dwyer finished fifth in the €26,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em – Single Re-Entry 8 Handed event on August 23rd, and then occupied the runner-up position in the €10,300 Pot Limit Omaha – Re-Entry Event that took place on August 24th and 25th. His total winnings from the two events amount to €453,100.

The US player also participated in the 47th edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2016. He entered the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event Championship from July 9th to 17th and reached the 261th place out of a total of 6,737.

There were also two events from this year’s EPT-12-FPS-6-Grand Final that took place at Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. Steve O’Dwyer first entered the €50,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em – Super High Roller #37, ranking at the 9th position, and then in the €25,750 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em – High Roller #63, in which he managed to rank 31st. The two events took place at the beginning of May this year.

Back at the end of March and beginning of April, O’Dwyer entered two events of the GipsyTeam Live Poker Festival. First, he got fifth in the $2,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em – 6-Max High Roller on March 31st and then won the $4,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em – High Roller event that took place on April 1st and 2nd winning a total of $51,100.

Earlier in 2016, the US poker player entered the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Georgia. He ranked sixth in the $220 Buy-in Pot Limit Omaha and managed to come victorious from the $2,200 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em – High Roller on March 8th-9th.

O’Dwyer also participated in the EPT-12-UKIPT-5-Dublin, as well as in two events of the 2016 Aussie Millions Poker Championship, in which he ranked at the 4th and the 1st position, respectively. At the very beginning of 2016, the American also took part in the 2016 PCA as well as in the 2016 World Poker Tour National (WPTN) in the Philippines.
