Tommy Le Emerges Victorious from £550 Buy-in Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Edinburgh Main Event

The American professional poker player Tommy Le emerged victorious from this year’s edition of the £550 Buy-in Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Edinburgh Main Event, after he managed to outlast a total of 183 rivals to win the first-place prize estimated to £25,000.

This was the six leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour series. The next stop of the tournament is to be in Luton and will take place in the period between October 2nd and 9th. Players can qualify for the £1,100 Buy-in Main Event with a guaranteed prize of £200,000 through Grosvenor Poker with a minimum stake of £0.50.

The Main Event of the 2016 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Edinburgh took place over the weekend. It featured a guaranteed prize pool of £25,000.

The event attracted an overall players pool of 184 entrants, who gathered a prize of a higher value than the one that was initially revealed. A total of 13 players progressed to the final day of the Main Event. Each of them was guaranteed getting a minimum prize of £1,400 for their efforts.

The first one to leave the final table was Norbert Bora. Soon after him, three other players – Kee Cheung, Ronnie Ballantyne and Steve Bangham – were sent to the sidelines. This was the moment when only nine players remained at the final table to fight for the Main Event’s title.

At the end of the game, Tommy Le held the chip lead of 3,000,000 against his opponent’s 600,000 and entered a heads-up battle against Donald Koh. Unfortunately for Koh, his hand yielded to Le’s hand, leaving him on the second position, and Le emerging as the Main Event’s winner.

With Tommy Le occupying the first place, his last standing opponent Donald Koh remained as runner-up. He was granted with a prize of £18,000. Apostolos Kandalis remained third, taking home a consolation prize estimated to £15,700.

The fourth place was taken by Terje Sirnes, and Findlay Meechan remained fifth. Ryan Fairgrieve was granted with £3,900 for his sixth position, while Barry Burns took the seventh place in the final table ranking. The eight and ninth positions were occupied by Alan Brown and William Paxton, respectively.
