Genting Poker Series to Kick Off in Westcliff on October 13th

The 2016 edition of the Genting Poker Series (GPS) is to head to Westcliff-on-Sea for its Leg 13, which will be the fifth event of GPS that is to be held there.

What is different between the previous editions of the Westcliff Main Event of the Genting Poker Series and this year’s one is the fact that in the past, all GPS Main Events featured buy-ins of £440.

Leg 13 of the poker tournament is to kick off on October 13th and will be through on October 16th, attracting players from all over the UK. The Series in Westcliff-on-Sea features a guaranteed Genting Poker Series Mini tournament prize of £35,000.

Several days before the Westcliff-on-Sea event starts, there will be a Satellite on October 10th. The Satellite would guarantee a total of five seats on the GPS Mini tournament and features a buy-in of £23, with an add on of £10.

The event will feature a total of three starting flights, each of which offers a buy-in of £220. In addition, the players who enter the Main Event of 2016 Genting Poker Series in Westcliff will start their play with a stack of 25,000 chips. They will be also given the opportunity to play to blinds that are to increase on 40-minute intervals.

The Day 1A of the £220 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Main Event of the Series is to take place on October 13th. As mentioned above, players will start with a stack of 25,000 chips and blinds will increase every 40 minutes. The Day 1B of the Main Event of the series will follow on October 14th, with both Day 1A and Day 1B starting at 7:00 PM. The third starting flight – Day 1C of the event – will start at 5:00 PM on October 15th.

What is best is the fact that all players who take part in each of the starting flights, will be given the opportunity to make a single re-buy, which in theory would give them better chances. In addition, the 2016 Genting Poker Series in Westcliff-on-Sea also features a special option called Stack Surrender. In order to take advantage of the Stack Surrender, the player needs to progress to Day to of the Main event with a stack consisting of no more than 25,000 chips. Then, they are offered the chance to surrender their chips and re-enter the play on the following day.

The Main Event Day 2 is scheduled for October 16th and will start at 2 PM.
