Paul Volpe Climbs to 12th Position in GPI Ranking Latest Update

The latest update of the Global Poker Index (GPI) Ranking saw some reshuffle, with a number of players going up and down in their position. The US poker professional Paul “The Main Event” Volpe managed to climb to the 12th position of the ranking.

In fact Paul Volpe has already climbed as high as the 4th place in the GPI Ranking, so it remains to be seen if he is to further attack the top 10 places. With all-time winnings amounting to $5,548,843 and live best cash of $654,170, Volpe is considered as one of the most prominent poker players

So far in 2016, the US poker pro has joined a large number of poker events, tournaments and festivals, making it a year to remember.

The latest tournament he has joined was this year’s edition of Borgata Fall Poker Open. Volpe got to the 28th position of the $2,700 No Limit Hold’em – Championship event, which took part from November 18th to November 22nd. Only a number of weeks earlier, between September 18th and September 23rd, he entered the No Limit Hold’em WPT Main Event at the WPT – Borgata Poker Open, scooping a cash portion of $16,983 for his 20th place in the ranking.

In August 2016, the player took part in the $5,250 buy-in No Limit Hold’em at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship. He managed to rank at the 102nd position out of 847 entrants and got a prize estimated to $8,750. July was a busy month for Paul Volpe, as the player took part in a large number of events, including the 47th Edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

He played in a total of nine events from the WSOP 2016 schedule and even won one of them – the Eight Game Mix at the Rio Hotel and Casino, which took place between June 10th and 12th. The total cash winnings generated by Volpe over the 47the Edition of WSOP amounted to $611,745. In July, he also participated in the Borgata Summer Poker Open, and finished as a runner-up in the $2,700 buy-in No Limit Hold’em, taking home a prize of $189,102.

A few months earlier, Paul Volpe became the champion in the Spring Edition of Borgata Poker Open, winning $356,255.

At the beginning of 2016, he participated in this year’s edition of PCA, as well as in the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open. WPT Rolling Thunder was one of the events he also took part in, and so were the Super High Roller 9 and 8 at the beginning of June.
