Sean Winter Climbs to 14th Position in Latest GPI Ranking Update

The American poker professional Sean Winter climbed up in the ranking after the latest update of the Global Poker Index (GPI). Now Winter occupies the 14th position in the ranking and is set to attack the top 10.

Jacksonville-born Sean Winter, who has climbed as high as the ninth position in the GPI ranking, has generated all-time winnings of $4,694,553 so far in his career. His live best cash amounted to $914,580.

In 2016, the young American has taken part in a large number of poker events and tournaments, generating some pretty large winnings. The latest tournament Sean Winter participated in was the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic’s Main event which took place at the Bellagio casino from December 5th to 10th. Winter got 65th and got a cash prize of $22,251.

On November 22nd, the player took part in the $50,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em – RR Poker Open 2016 High Roller of this year’s edition of the Rock N Roll Poker Open. Sean Winter got second, taking home a cash portion of $271,362. The player also entered a number of Aria High Roller tournaments in 2016, including the Aria High Roller 22, 39, 42 and 45. The total winnings generated by the American over the Aria High Roller tournaments he took part in amount to $393,840. His best ranking was the second place in the Aria High Roller 45, for which he was granted with $230,400.

In addition, he also participated in the Super High Roller 8 that featured a buy-in of $50,000 and ranked on the third place, getting a prize amounting to $525,757.

Sean Winter also took part in a total of three events that were part of the 47th edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2016. First, he entered the $2,500 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em from June 16th to 18th. Then, the player participated in the $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six-Handed, and last, but not least, he ranked at the 8th place in the $25,000 Buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller event, getting a prize of $110,035.

At the beginning of the year 2016, the player also entered two events of the 2016 edition of PCA, generating overall winnings of $925,420. He also managed to win his largest live cash of $914,580.
