Jack Zi Yang Salter Climbs to 11th Position in GPI Ranking

UK poker professional Jack Zi Yang Salter climbed to the 11th position after the latest update of Global Poker Index (GPI) Ranking. The player has also been occupying the 15th place in the PoY 2016 rank for two weeks now.

The 29-year-old London-born Salter has managed to gather winnings of $5,516,973 in his career so far, while his largest live prize to date amounts to $1,536,666.

The year 2016 has been quite successful for Salter, since it was marked by great performances and a number of massive cash prizes. The young UK poker pro has participated in some of the largest poker tournaments on a global scale.

The last poker event he took part in was the €5,200 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Hyper Turbo of the EPT-13-EUREKA-6-Prague that was hosted at the Hilton Prague Hotel on December 16th. Jack Zi Yang Salter managed to emerge victorious from the tournament, outlasting a total of 45 competitors and took home a prize estimated to €56,820.

Earlier in December 2016 he participated in the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic and ranked 35th, winning $38,364. On December 4th Salter won the $25,000 Buy-in NL Hold’em event of the Aria High Roller 47 tournament that took place at the Aria Resort & Casino and was granted with a prize estimated to $412,800.

He ranked sixth in the 2016 edition of the Master Classics of Poker in November, after occupying the third position in the HK$12,000 Buy-in NLHE Red Dragon event of the Macau Poker Cup 25-APPT 10 which was hosted at the City of Dreams in Macau from September 4th to 10th. The player got a massive prize of HK$892,000.

In the summer of 2016, and more specifically in June and July, Jack Salter took part in the 47th edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP). First, from June 2nd to 7th, he entered the $565 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Colossus II. Until the end of June, the UK poker pro took part in two more events of the 47th WSOP 2016.

Then, two more WSOP Series events followed. From July 5th to 8th, the player entered the $5,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Event #59 and ranked 86th. In the period from July 8th to 10th, he participated in the $111,111 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em High Roller for One Drop event and emerged on the fourth position, scooping a guaranteed prize pool cash portion amounting to $1,536,666. This was also the largest live cash he has managed to generate in his professional poker career so far.

Jack Salter also participated in the Bellagio High Roller VII, ranking at the third place and taking home a cash prize of $181,440. At the end of June he entered the $1,600 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em #48 of the Deep Stack Extravaganza III that took place at the Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.

Salter also played at the EPT-12-FPS-6-Grand Final, as well as at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. From April 6th to 10th, the player took part in the UKIPT6-London which was hosted at the Hippodrome casino. He occupied the 6th position in the ranking, scooping a prize of £17,550. The 29-year-old remained fourth at the No Limit Hold’em High Roller Re-Entry at the Macau Poker Cup 24-APPT 10.

In January 2016, the player participated in a total of four events of the 2016 edition of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship that took place at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. As a result, he generated total winnings of AU$37,345.
