The 24-year-old poker player Oleksandr Strokolis from Ukraine has emerged victorious from the €550 Buy-in PokerStars Super Deep tournament, taking home the five-digit prize of €25,769.
The €550 Buy-in PokerStars Super Deep tournament started on March 5th, to attract a players field of a total of 304 participants. 246 of these entries were unique players, and 58 of them re-entered, accounting for a guaranteed prize pool estimated to €147,440. Despite the large number of players who decided to take part in the Super Deep tournament, it was only 55 of them who got paid for their efforts, getting a cash portion of the guaranteed prize, with the first-place prize being estimated to €25,769.
Normally, each and every one of the 304 participants in the PokerStars Super Deep was aimed at winning the tournament’s title, but it was only one of them who succeeded to do that. The Ukranian poker player Oleksandr Strokolis managed to outlast all of his opponents to take down the tournament. The Super Deep became not only the first-ever tournament Strokolis has participated in, but also the first place the player generated a live cash.
The young Ukrainian has originally intended to come to the PokerStars Festival Rozvadov to play some cash games, but eventually ended up taking part in the Super Deep tournament and emerging as winner. At the time when there were only two players standing, Strokolis was one of these two, facing the Italian Domenic Gala in a heads-up battle. Unfortunately for Gala, this was the second time he reaches a final table at the King’s Casino Rozvadov, but once again he did not manage to take down the event. In 2016, he ranked ninth in the Eureka6 Rozvadov Main Event, winning a guaranteed prize pool cash portion of €9,920.
With Oleksandr Strokolis emerging at the first position in the competition with a prize estimated to €25,769, the Italian Domenico Gala remained on the runner-up position, winning a guaranteed prize pool portion of €18,951. The third position in the ranking was occupied by Hubert Baran-Osinski from Poland, who scooped an amount of €13,937 of the guaranteed prize pool.
The UK player Daniel Harwood ranked fourth, followed by Robert Safran from Germany. Then, the French Jonathan Dartevelle comes sixth, and the Václav Pavlik from the Czech Republic occupied the seventh place in the ranking. The Belgian Quentin Peeters comes at the last 8th position of the final table ranking, winning an amount of €2,998.
